As I said in a previous post one of the trends I hate about current websites is the absolute adherence to having constantly revolving images on the front page.

I just find it annoying.

I think people do it just because everybody else is doing it, so they think they need to do it.

That's why I did it on my site. But I don't like it.

So now I have demoted it down the page. At last! I've been wanting to do that for a while.

And my excuse?

Well I want to beef up my experiment with on site SEO. I'm keeping this journal everyday, which is keeping the Journal page fresh, but what about the front page?

So I've put 'teaser' text and links to the articles very prominently at the top of the front page. And the horrible carousel has been pushed down the page.

( Which, by the way, is very easy to do with MODX, which is why it's my content management system of choice)

Lets see if that has any effect.
