Blogging makes you realise that there are many different ways to say things, and if you say things in many different ways, you find new facets on the subject and idea.

At school we were always told to write things in our own words, I found that so hard, mainly because we were writing about books, so it was a lot easier to just copy it verbatim out of the book, after all they already expressed it very well, in fact better than you could.

But now I realise the power of using my own words because it teaches me what I know and what I don't know.
